KidZone After School & Schools Out Camp Counselor: 2025-2026 School Year 

VRD Community Programming seeks staff to implement KidZone, a school-age after school program held at Red Sandstone Elementary School. 

• Part-time or Seasonal position
• Present–May 28, 2026; with potential for full-time seasonal employment during the summer months
• After School shifts are available on school days: Monday–Friday, 2 to 5:30 p.m.
• School's Out Camp shifts are available from 7:45 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. (follows school district calendar)

This is a great opportunity for local high school or college-aged students ages 16 years and up, with the potential to work full time in the summer.

Qualifications include knowledge of child development and experience teaching children sports, games and crafts. Flexibility, patience, energy and independence are required. Training time is compensated. $20/hour or more depending on experience and qualifications. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Summer Camp Counselors

Pre Kamp Vail Lead Teacher 2026

F/T Seasonal June 1–August 15. Accommodations to the schedule can be made for ECSD ECE teachers with a commitment to the school district's schedule. This program is based at Golden Peak Children's Center, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ideal staff schedule is working four days each week at approximately 9-9.5 hours each day.

This position is available only to applicants with a Colorado Early Childhood Teacher qualification. Pre Kamp Vail is a Colorado State Licensed program open to children ages 30 months to 5 years.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: daily field trips in Vail, planning and implementing engaging activities for preschool children, maintaining and cleaning the physical space and managing assistant counselors. Reliability, energy, independence, and being comfortable changing diapers are required.

Reliability, energy, independence, and being comfortable changing diapers are required.

Camp Vail Counselor 2026

F/T Seasonal June 5–August 15. This program is based at Red Sandstone Elementary School, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The ideal staff schedule is working four days each week at approximately 8-10 hours each day. Camp Vail is a Colorado State Licensed program open to children ages 5 to 12 years.

Qualifications include but are not limited to: must be 16 years of age, strong communication and organizational skills; daily field trips (locally and up to  two hours from Vail); knowledge of child development; experience teaching children sports, games and crafts. Reliability, energy, and independence are required.

Hourly position offering DOE $19-$21/hr for Assistant Counselors and $21-$25/hr for Lead Counselors (education and/or experience required). Email your cover letter and resume or job application to: community@vailrec.com.
