Named a Road-Trip Worthy Race by Outside Magazine
2021 was the first year the Vail Trail Half marathon found it's home in Arrowhead. We wanted even more aspen trees and beautiful views, so get ready for the new 2025 Arrowhead Half Marathon course! The half marathon course continues to challenge racers with 3,000' of elevation gain over 13 miles. This half marathon will traverse across the beautiful Arrowhead, Bachelor Gulch, & Beaver Creek Ski Resorts, along their incredible network of trails. Racers will run through aspen groves as they ascend the Arrowhead Mountain Trail to the summit of Bachelor Gulch Mountain (9,560') before descending a new trail (we love new things!). Finishing off the 13 miles with a traverse across Arrowhead Mountain on the Apache, Ute & Dakota trails. Expect access to aid station a total of 5 times while out on course - more information available below.
The 5K is a point-to-point from The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch to Arrowhead, with a whole lot of downhill (940' to be exact)! This is a great 5K for all ages and abilities - runners, sloggers, and walkers! This is the perfect race for those trying to get into 5K, coming in at 5.6K and mostly downhill - more information available below.
