The seventh and final race in the Vail Recreation District's Vail Trail Running Series, the Dynafit Meadowgold 10K & 5K is presented by Town of Minturn. This exciting and remote route will take place on Meadow Mountain in Minturn, Colorado. Traverse accross this beautiful and historic mountain meadow and soak in the changing of the season!
Meadow Mountain has quite the history! Did you know that it was home to evercrisp lettuce farming back in the 1920s? Or did you also know that Meadow Mountain was once a downhill ski area in the 1960s?? Some of the structures from these time periods still stand on Meadow Mountain for you to discover!
10K runners will ascend technical singletrack on the beautiful West Grouse Trail with multiple stream crossings and fields of blossoming wildflowers. At the high point and nearly half-way through the 10K race, runners will begin the descent on Line Shack Trail with open views of Vail Mountain and the Gore Range. 5K runners will enjoy a 1.5 mile ascent on Line Shack Trail, through mountain meadows and past old homesteads before making a u-turn and quickly descending to the finish line.
