VRD Mountain Bike Racing Kicks Off With Short Track MTB Race Series

The 2014 mountain bike race season kicks off featuring four Spring MTB Short Track races taking place this spring. The Spring MTB Short Track race series schedule includes a race at the Eagle County Fairgrounds on April 23 with an after party at the Dusty Boot; April 30 at 4 Eagle Ranch near Wolcott with an after party at 4 Eagle Ranch Grill; May 7 at Maloit Park in Minturn with an after party at Magustos and, the final race on May 14, will return to the Eagle County Fairgrounds with an after party at The Dusty Boot. VRD May 6 Election

The Vail Park and Recreation District's special district election will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at which election voters will elect three directors to the VRD board to serve a four-year term. Seven candidates, Kevin Foley, Constance Miller, Kimberley Newbury, Robert Oppenheimer, Brian Rodine, Tom Saalfeld and Penny Turilli, are running for the three Board of Director seats. For more information, including voting eligibility and absentee ballot requests, click here. Registration for KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Games Underway

Registration for the 5th Annual KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Games is underway. Open to teams of two between the ages of six and 14, the race will require young participants to navigate an adventure course in Vail Village and on Vail Mountain that will include a mud pit, rope obstacles, a zip line, a giant slope-n-slide, river tubing, climbing, problem-solving challenges and many other activities. Vail Golf Course and Clubhouse Renovation

Eagle County District Court Judge Paul Dunkelman has ruled in favor of the Town of Vail and the Vail Recreation District in a lawsuit filed by eight plaintiffs who claimed that the remodel plans for the Vail Golf Course and Clubhouse were illegal. In November 2011, Vail voters elected to reallocate the town of Vail's Conference Center Fund balance for expansion and improvement of the Vail Golf Clubhouse.  For details, click here
