Parents' Nights Out 2016 

The Vail Recreation District is pleased to announce the parents' night out series. For those parents that are short of a babysitter, VRD Youth Services is offering six different fun-filled dates this ski season.

All evening events will take place from 5-9 p.m. and are available to children ages four to 12. Cost is $35 for one child and $25 for siblings, including dinner, games and art for everyone! Dates on Saturdays and Sundays are Jan. 16, Feb. 13 and March 20 with drop off and pick up at the Imagination Station located on the second floor of the Lionshead Welcome Center. Dates on Fridays are Jan. 22 and March 4, with drop off at the Red Sandstone Elementary School and pick up at the Imagination Station. A final "Shut Down the Mountain" date will be offered on April 9 from 2-7 p.m. with drop off and pick up at the Imagination Station.

Vail Golf Club Accepting Proposals from Non-Profits for 2016 Course Donations

The Vail Recreation District is accepting proposals from non-profit organizations in Eagle County seeking donation of a one-day golf tournament at the Vail Golf Club in 2016. The VRD will be accepting proposals until 5 p.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016. The VRD’s objective is to support our Eagle County local community through donating green fees, carts, range balls, and tournament set-up to a local non-profit organization that will utilize the golf course as a fundraising mechanism. All requests will be reviewed by the Board of Directors. The name of the organization selected will be decided in March 2016. Registration Open for High Country Hoops Youth Sports Program

The Vail Recreation District will again offer its popular High Country Hoops after school program starting on March 1. This program takes place at Homestake Peak Elementary School from 4-5:30 p.m., with grades 1 and 2 on Tuesdays and Grades 3-5 on Thursdays. Each session will consist of 45 minutes of skill building, including dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork and defense, followed by 45 minutes of game play. Introducing Open Gym Pickleball 

The Vail Recreation District is pleased to introduce an indoor pickleball open gym this winter. Pickleball is currently the fastest growing sport in the country and has been a popular summer activity at the Golden Peak tennis courts. Pickleball is a paddle sport open to all ages and levels with easy rules for beginners and a fast-paced competitive game for more experienced players. Indoor open gym pickleball has begun and takes place at Red Sandstone Elementary School on Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Three full pickleball courts will be available and both sessions are open to those of all ages, abilities and experience. Cost is $5 per person and a five-punch card for $25 or a ten-punch card for $45 are also available to credit toward sessions.  Adult Open Gyms Have Started

The Vail Recreation District has begun its adult open gym programs, featuring Basketball, Futsal (Indoor Soccer), Volleyball and Gymnastics, hosted at Red Sandstone Elementary School and the Vail Gymnastics Center.
