about our chef

Born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Tampa, Florida, David Sanchez graduated summa cum laude from Johnson & Wales University in 1992. His 37-year career in the culinary industry has brought him all over the country, working as an executive chef in Texas, Florida, Arizona and Colorado. During his time in the Vail Valley, David has headed up kitchens at the Chophouse (Beaver Creek and Vail), Beaver Creek Golf Club, Allie’s Cabin, the Osprey and Toscanini (Beaver Creek). At the Osprey, David was chef to the U.S. Ski Team during the 2015 World Championships in Beaver Creek. David spent seven years as a chef instructor with Johnson & Wales University and Colorado Mountain College. As executive chef, David focuses on creating flavorful and unique approaches to classic favorites. With an emphasis on fresh and local ingredients, Chef David continues to elevate the dining experience at our banquets and at the Grill on the Gore restaurant.

Garden and custom smoker

Our cuisine is prepared with high-quality ingredients sourced locally in Colorado. Our large on-site garden plots provide a bounty of fresh vegetables and herbs, used in many of our dishes. You can often find our chef out at the custom-built smoker carefully preparing juicy and tender top cuts of meat to elevate your menu!
