PURCHASE PASSES ONLINE | Vail Pickleball Open

The new Golden Peak Pickleball Center in Vail is one of the finest pickleball facilities on Colorado's western slope. The six dedicated pickleball courts at Golden Peak have the RSS Reflex 500 polyurathane cushioned court surface, a high performance surface that is easier on the body than conventional outdoor court surfaces. The Golden Peak Pickleball Center is conveniently located next to Vail Mountain, between Vail Village and the Gerald R Ford Amphitheater and Ford Park. The pickleball center features a comfortable, shaded seating area for socializing in-between games, a filtered water bottle filler, a solar-powered bathroom facility and a helpful staff to maintain the courts and facilitate programming. During drop-in play, a "Challenge Court" is offered for advanced-level players, and staff work hard to optimize player rotations based on skill levels and to minimize wait time between games. VRD staff also have balls and demo paddles available to use during drop-in times, and new equipment is available for purchase.

Weather permitting, the outdoor courts at Golden Peak are open from mid-April through mid-November. Residents and guests of all ages are welcome to participate in daily drop-in play, clinics, private lessons, leagues, mixers, tournaments, junior camps and more. At the end of the outdoor season, indoor play will resume at Red Sandstone Elementary School.

PICKLEBALL PROGRAMMING

Courts are open in the summer season for play from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily by reservation only. Lessons and clinics may be booked at 8 a.m. daily.

The Vail Recreation District pickleball program is a year-round program with summer outdoor play at the Golden Peak Pickleball Center, and winter indoor play at Red Sandstone Elementary School. VRD offers clinics and lessons from Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) certified instructors during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Balls and demo paddles are provided at every drop in session and are also available to purchase. We also offer protective eyewear, Babolat and Prince court shoes, portable nets and more for purchase. The new Paddletek Bantam EX-L Pro and TS-5 Pro and Selkirk Invikta have arrived and we have demos to try. New paddles from Paddletek and Selkirk are always in stock and we have demos to try.

VRD Pickleball has demo and for sale paddles from Selkirk, Paddletek and Gamma.

The best place to park during the outdoor season is at the east end of the Vail Village Parking Structure, which is less than a five minute walk to Golden Peak. There is limited parking at the courts.

Schedule is subject to change. All programs require pre-registration except for drop-in play. Contact: Jerry Stevens at 970-479-2457 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with questions.
