Race Information

Please note, the 2020 route will ascend Vail Mountain approximately 1,700 vertical feet and then return to the base area and finish at Golden Peak. The 2020 route will be 10 miles and approximately two miles longer than the traditional Vail HillClimb route. Here is the outline of the 2020 course

Runners will ascend Gitalong Road for approximately 1,700 vertical feet over 4.5 miles. The course will then begin a gradual descent on Mill Creek Road to the finish at Golden Peak. The 2020 route covers approximately 10 miles.

The race will begin on Gore Drive near Checkpoint Charlie in the heart of Vail Village. All social distancing protocols will be enforced at the start line. Thank you for wearing your face mask and staying 6 feet apart while preparing to start your race!

Race day bib pickup will be available Vail's Mountain Haus adjecent to the covered bridge. Please refer to the wave start list and arrival/bib pick-up chart above when scheduling your race arrival time.

There will be no gondola access for spectators for the 2020 edition. 

The Dynafit HillClimb is presented by the Vail's Mountain Haus and is the second race of the 2020 Vail Trail Running Series. 


Pre-Race Bib Pickup & Registration

Racers can pick up their race numbers or register ahead of time on Friday, July 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at a Vail's Mountain Haus adjecent to the covered bridge. There will be no day-of registration for the 2020 Vail HillClimb.

Race day bib pickup will also be available Vail's Mountain Haus adjecent to the covered bridge. Please refer to the wave start list and arrival/bib pick-up chart above when scheduling your race arrival time.


Vail Resorts Release of Liability Form

All HillClimb participants must sign and return the Release of Liability Form to participant in the HillClimb. To save you time and to help reduce the spread of viruses, you can print the form and bring it with you to bib pick-up. 


Please park in the Vail Village parking structure or at the Lionshead parking structure.
