Santa's Workshop

Kid with Santa web

Kick off the holiday season and come visit Santa during the Vail Recreation District's annual Santa's Workshop, scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7.

Located in the Imagination Station above the Lionshead Welcome Center (second floor), Santa's Workshop is free for children of all ages. Kids can visit and have their photo taken with Santa, who is bilingual, as well as make crafts including personalizing photo frames, making ornaments, creating gifts and decorating cookies.

"Santa's Workshop is a yearly tradition for many local and visiting families," says Chad Young, VRD Community Programming Director. "It's one of our favorite events of the year! Kids will have a great time creating their own gifts, making treats and telling Santa their holiday wishes."
Also located in the same space, the Imagination Station - a play space for children ages two through 12 - will have limited activities during Santa's Workshop. The Imagination Station features a Thoughts Flow water table that encourages experimentation and problem solving, a play wall that integrates physical and cognitive learning and other activities that inspire creativity and thoughtful play.

Starting Dec. 1, the Imagination Station will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the exception of Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Cost is $7 per child per day, while parents and children under two are free.

Vail Recreation District's Imagination Station are located above the Lionshead Welcome Center, on the south side of the Lionshead parking structure and on the Town of Vail's free in-town shuttle system. The Imagination Station offers year-round opportunities including art and science projects and new virtual reality experiences.
