Cyclocross races consist of many laps, approximately 1.5 to 2 miles each, on a course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstructions and remount.
Registration - 4:15-6:15pm
Kids Race - 5:00pm (15 minutes)
Beginners Race - 5:20pm (20 minutes)
Sport Race - 5:45pm (30 minutes)
Pro/Open Race - 6:20pm (40 minutes)

The Jake Wells Cyclocross Clinic is geared to give you all of the tools that you will need to enjoy a successful cyclocross race season! This tutorial clinic is targeted toward beginner and intermediate to advanced cross racers and is offered during the ideal training time for the race season. With the spectacular setting of Vail, Colorado as your classroom, you will learn about Equipment Technique and Tactics during this two day clinic.
*** Riders can use a mountain bike for both the clinics and race. Cyclocross bikes are not necessary for participation.
A special discount on lodging options will be given to clinic participants at the Vail Cascade Hotel.
Jake Wells is an American professional bike racer who specializes in Cyclocross and Mountain Bike racing. He is a National Champion Mountain Biker and is consistently one of the top Cyclocross and Mountain Bike racers in Colorado. He has finished in the top 15 at both the US Cyclocross and Mountain Bike Marathon National Championships. Over the last few seasons he has proven to be a top ten mainstay in the US Pro Cyclocross Peloton. Jake currently lives in Avon, Colo., and is the owner of SufferFest Sports Management, offering personal coaching and Team Management services.
