Information for race participants 

Ages 6 -12   

The 1st annual Vail Kids Adventure Race will offer teams of two kids, ages six through 12, the opportunity to experience the thrill of adventure racing through Vail and the surrounding wilderness. During the race, teams will work together to navigate a variety of outdoor sports and challenges including mountain biking, hiking, tubing, archery, a low ropes course, zip line, Tarzan swing, slip-n-slide and more.
 
Registration was limited to 50 teams of two kids. The event is now full. Please contact us if you would like to be added to the wait list. (970) 479-2280. There will be no day-of registration for this event.
 
Age categories will be 6-7; 8-9; 10-12
 
Schedule:
8am – First Wave.  Arrive and place equipment in transition area
8:30am – Safety Talk, Race Instructions
9am – Wave 1 starts. 2 minute intervals/team
 
9:30am - Second Wave. Arrive and place equipment in transition area
10:00am – Safety Talk, Race Instructions
10:30am – Wave 2 starts. 2 minute intervals/team
 
11am - Third Wave. Arrive and place equipment in transition area
11:30am – Safety Talk, Race Instructions
Noon – Wave 3 starts. 2 minute intervals/team
 
2pm - After party and Awards. Location TBD.

Start/Finish Location: Vista Bahn Base Area, Vail Village
 
Parking: Vail Village Parking Structure
 
Schedule: The Kids Adventure Race will begin with a safety briefing and instructions by Race Director and Adventure Racer, Billy Mattison. Competitors will be divided in three waves based on age and will start at set intervals. A start list will be available prior to race. An after party and awards ceremony will take place immediately after the race.
