Summer Day Camp Staff
We host Camp Vail, Pre Kamp Vail, Camp Eco Fun and Imagination Station in the summer months. Camp Vail provides a variety of activities each day for elementary age children. Pre-Kamp Vail allows pre-school age children to enjoy art, active play and a daily adventure. Camp Eco Fun encourages playful learning of a weekly ecology theme through games, crafts, books and activities at the Vail Nature Center. Imagination Station inspires thoughtful play through children’s museum-like playscapes and art opportunities.
We rely on our counselors to help teach the sports, art and science depending on the camp they are in and their individual expertise. We train counselors on how to handle groups and expect them to participate with the children and fill free time with engaging activities. We need self-motivated people who want to inspire growth in children, and who have experience caring for children.
Camp Vail training will start Friday, May 26 then continue May 30 to June 2. Camp Vail opens June 5 (for new staff). Camp Eco Fun and Pre Kamp Vail training begins June 5 with camps opening on June 12. All camps run through August 18; we will have some employees able to end on August 11. We will have work for a few employees through September 1. Please be clear in your job application on the dates you are available for work. We spend considerable time on training and background checks for all of our employees; therefore, we prefer employees that can commit to the entire summer and are able to return for multiple summers.
